Privacy Policy — ANTICS VR

Who we are

Antics VR (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the developer of the Meta Quest games Speck & Tether and Newgrange VR . If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us on Discord.

Scope

This policy explains how we handle personal data within the ANTICS VR game on the Meta Quest platform. It applies only to this game and related leaderboard functionality.

Data we collect

We collect and process one personal data element:

Username — the display name shown on the in-game leaderboard.

We do not collect any other personal data (such as email, precise location, payment information, device identifiers, or contact lists) within this game.

Tip: To protect your privacy, please avoid using a username that includes your real name or other information that identifies you personally.

How we use your data

Leaderboard display and ranking: to show your username alongside your score/time in the game.
Content moderation: to remove usernames that violate our community guidelines (e.g., hate speech, impersonation).

Legal bases (EEA/UK)

If you are in the EEA or UK, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR/UK GDPR:

Consent: when you choose to submit your score to the leaderboard, you consent to the display of your username to other players; and/or
Legitimate interests: running a fair and secure leaderboard is a legitimate interest of the game and its community.

Sharing and disclosure

Public display: your username will be visible to other players via the leaderboard.
Service providers: we may use hosting or platform services to operate the leaderboard. These providers act on our instructions and do not use your data for their own purposes.

We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Your username may be processed on servers located outside your country. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual protections) to protect your data.

Data retention

We retain your username on the leaderboard while the feature is active or until you request removal. We may periodically prune inactive entries as part of routine maintenance.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

Access a copy of your personal data (your leaderboard username).
Request correction or deletion of your username from the leaderboard.
Object to or restrict processing in certain circumstances.

To exercise these rights, contact us on Discord. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for example, in Ireland: the Data Protection Commission).

Opt-out / Removal

If you do not want your username to appear on the leaderboard, either:

Do not submit your score to the leaderboard; or
contact us on Discord and request removal.

Children

We follow the Meta Quest platform’s age requirements. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the platform’s permitted age. If you believe a child’s data is present on the leaderboard, please contact us so we can remove it.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your username from accidental or unlawful access, alteration, or disclosure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the game or legal requirements. We will post the updated version here with a revised effective date.
